Hello,

Welcome to genealodzy.pl. Please sign your posts with your name.

Please post the link to Marcin's death certificate. It should give the mother's name and, possibly, a more detailed place of birth. That info will help confirm that we are researching the correct person. Having said that:

The gravestone gives a different birth date (1865):
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/408 ... n-swiatowy

It appears you need to do a lot more digging on the US side before you move on to search in Europe:

He does appear in Buffalo City Directory in 1894:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=3754697

US Federal Census 1910 specifies his birthday: November 1862 in the Russian partition of Poland. This is alarming as the information in the marriage record below suggests that he comes from the Prussian partition (this needs to be investigated, possible that this is his wife's parish or that the census enumerator made a mistake, either way don't ignore this discrepancy). It also confirms the year of arrival - 1893:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1325221

In NY state census, but indexed incorrectly:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=3754697

Having all of this info, we can strongly suggest that the birth date given by you is incorrect.

Here is his marriage record confirming his birth date around 1862 (ignore the index, it's idiotic):
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=4116415
that also gives you parents: Franciscus Swiatowy and Josepha Florkowska. Michalina's info is also included.

Now you have the parish.

I don't want to take away the joy of discovery away from you, so I'll stop at that. I do suggest you open a free account on FamilySearch - there is at least one well-researched tree there with info on your ancestors. Reach out to your public library and they will guide you through it, if needed.

Let us know if you need more help on the Polish side. Do look for his immigration documentation

Best,

Maja
