Ciao fab genealodzy.pl forum heroes
Please help me
Truly, thank you SO much for your stellar site & search functionality which has hugely helped me on my www.ancestry.co.uk family tree (I have linked to your results many times). Through your fab site, I have found many descent relatives and also with the help of stellar and really lovely person in the forum (axeeee) who helped me.
But, I have hit a brick wall everywhere, for:
Joseph Banke (Abt 1747 - Before 1795) of Woiska ?
Since my last post Apr 04, 2022 (but from start of lockdown on the Baingo quest) I have been trying to trace Joseph Banke
https://www.sushi-rider.com/baingo-silesia/erwin-baingo/baingo/joseph-banke-from-woiska.jpg
who is my Baingo / Banke ancestor of my grandfather Erwin Baingo
https://www.sushi-rider.com/baingo-silesia/erwin-baingo/
On Joseph Banke's son's Carl Banka (Senior) (Abt 1771, Woiska - 1848, Wüstenhammer) ) marriage certificate to Franciska Ziaja dated 19 Feb 1795 in Wesola, Joseph Banke / Banka was "of" Woiska
Mega please can some one help? I would even consider a reasonable fee for this.
Best wishes
A London, Silesia Banke / Baingo descendant
ps forgive me i will also add another forum thread as I am intrigued why my Grandfather surname was changed from Banke tp Baingo[/url] |

The profession of Joseph seems very interesting and unusual (for me). My hint (maybe wrong) is to think about (on the right-hand side):
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=635378
Barbara Bantz (according to this link) was Tanzmeisterin in Woiska (this place belonged to the parish Wiśnicze (Wischnitz)). She had a daughter Josepha born 18.3.1780 in Woiska.
When you look at the birth certificate of that girl:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2114433
you will notice that her mother's name was Bankin (in fact Bank - the suffix -in means female). However, the child was born out of wedlock (unlike Carl, son of Joseph).
When you compare with the indices here in Geneteka, you will find that the name of the girl and her mother is Bonk.
https://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.ph ... =&to_date=
I'm sorry that this does not prove anything, but the profession is very unusual.
Bonk is a very popular surname in Silesia (also spelled Bąk currently).
When you look again at the marriage certificate of Carl, you will see that the surname may be also Bankc, which is Banck spelled incorrectly.
It would be nice to trace the origin of Barbara Bank - she might be a relative of Joseph.
One more thing: Silesia belonged to Prussia since 1742 after Silesian wars between Prussia and Habsburg empire.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silesian_Wars
It belonged to Prussia until 1918 (or 1921) and many places even until 1945.
