"Dane Józefa Tuska [dziadka Donalda] znajdują się w archiwum o nazwie: Niemiecki Urząd do spraw Informowania Najbliższych Krewnych o Poległych Członkach Niemieckiego Wehrmachtu - WASt . Placówka mieści się w dzielnicy Reinickendorf na północy Berlina.
Archiwum ma ogromną kartotekę. Zawiera ona ułożone w alfabetycznym porządku 18 milionów nazwisk członków Wehrmachtu, uczestniczących w drugiej wojnie światowej .
Zgromadzono też 15 milionów akt dotyczących Niemców, Austriaków i sprzymierzeńców, którzy podczas ostatniej wojny dostali się do alianckiej niewoli .
A także półtora miliona dokumentów na temat jeńców wojennych w niewoli niemieckiej.
Berlińską placówkę dowództwo Wehrmachtu założyło pod koniec sierpnia 1939 roku. Miała zbierać dane o własnych stratach i jeńcach wojennych. Do dziś dla uproszczenia używa się ukutego wówczas skrótu WASt od Wehrmachtsauskunftstelle, czyli Placówka Informacji Wehrmachtu. "
Poniewaz pogmatwane losy Polakow mogly skierowac przodkow niektorych forumowiczow do tej formacji, podaje to nowe zrodlo danych. Jak widac znajduja sie w nim materialy dotyczace nie tylko zolnierzy Wermahtu, ale i dane o jencach wojennych w niewoli niemieckiej itp.
