Greetings all,

I am here today to do a favor for a friend who is looking for inforamtion on the szlachta Rajecki family (we have a common Rajecki ancestor). I know there are numerous Polish language resources like Herbarz but I was looking to see if anyone here could put into English any of the more thorough Polish resources on the family.

I could then direct her to this page or send her a link so she could see it. I'd tranlsate myself but my Polish skills are far to poor for that Sad

Thank you to those who can help me, help a friend Smile

Warmest regards,

Hugh

This is a part of story about Rajeckis’ family I have written. For you and your friend is Gedeon the most important person, I suppose.
About Rajeckis, also known as Dunin Rajeckis, coat of arms the Swan, Lithuanian line, based on Herbarz Kacper Niesiecki.
One of the branches of the Rajecki family from Rajec near to Radom, mazovian district, settled from the 16th century in Lithuania in the Troki district, then in Wiłkomierski district. Below a part of their family tree.
1. Jan Rajecki, after a long war service in the Lithuanian army in the king Zygmunt I forces (1507-1548) settled in the Troki province. Presumably, his nephews remained in Rajec and received the title of nobility there. Rajec was a small village in 1787 - 53 inhabitants, in 1827 - 13 houses and 113 inhabitants.
1.1. Kasper, ensign of Troki
1.2. Balcer, wojski of Troki – an officer whose duty was to maintain order in a province while the nobility where engaged in a military expedition abroad
1.2.1 Elżbieta, husband Maciej Oziębłowski, prefekt of Szymany
1.2.2. Jan, royal captain in cavalry
1.2.3. Teofil, captain in cavalry, fell on the battle field under Chocim in the Zygmunt III Waza forces, in Vilnius at St. John buried.
1.2.4. Aleksander, the chamberlain of Wiłkomiersk, from Parliament 1607 commissioner for border crossings from Courland and in 1611. Constit. f. 41. financial distributor 1613. He marshaled in the Lithuanian Tribunal of 1601.
1.2.5. Gedeon (about 1589-1654), was in all war expeditions with Karol Chodkiewicz. Voivode of Mińsk. The most significant person of this family. Marriage bevor 1620 with Elżbieta Tyzenhauz, daughter of Hentyk. A large note about Gedeon was made at Polish Biografy Dictionary.
http://ipsb.nina.gov.pl/a/biografia/ged ... i-h-labedz
1.2.5.1. Władysław, prefect of Rumborsk
1.2.5.2. Teofil, chamberlain of Lydia, representative to parliament in 1661, deputy to the Lithuanian fiscal tribunal, Constit. fol. 4th and 1662. he was the commissar for payment the army expense, Constitut. fol. 6 and 1670. A deputation to write instructions for the reprasentatives sent to Moscow, Constit. fol. 16.
1.2.5.3. Jerzy Zygmunt
1.2.5.4. Gedeon
1.2.5.5. Marianna (burried in Nieśwież 6 II 1687), since 4 III 1663 wife of Stefan Frąckiewicz Radzimiński
1.2.5.6. Świętosława Zofia
1.2.5.7. Elżbieta (Halszka)
1.2.5.8. Anna
1.2.6. Wojciech, royal captain.
The extensive estate of Gideon in Lithuania is Hanuszyszki (Wiłkomierski district), Borklany and Naruszaniec, the farm of Jużynty in wiłkomierski district. On February 21, 1632, Jakuszki were given him for eternity, and on 20 April 1635 Koźliszki goods in the area of wiłkomierski district. In addition, he had an ancestral Czadosy (all Rajeckis wrote "from Rajec on Czadosy"), Sadowo, Kiermele, Poniemuń, Ponedel, Wysoki Dwór, Bobojedowszczyzna, Oposzcza (Wiłkomierski county) and Warków in Livonia. [PSB]

Based on the above-mentioned note, it can be concluded that the Rajeckis from Rajec was granted nobilitation before 1577, and the Rajec family from Lithuania a bit earlier - during the time of Zygmunt I. On the basis of SHG, the increase of Rajeckis’ property from Rajca can be traced. The family from Rajec did not have much significance, although Paweł and Rafał appear as electors of Jan Kazimierz [Electorów Poczet ...], while the Rajec family from Lithuania appear in the Herbarz, Kacper Niesiecki. Significance also acquired this line through female lines from marriages with Radzimiński, Leszczyński and Potocki.

Regards
Małgorzata:)
