I'm writing to Geneteka volunteers about the death act record that was uploaded to Geneteka on my Great-Great-Great Grandfather Stanisław Dymkowski who died in Uniszki Gumowskie, Mława, Mazowieckie, Poland on September 24, 1885. No parents were mentioned in his death record and no marriage record scan uploaded here and without either, finding his birth/baptism record would be almost impossible with such a common or generic full Polish name. I was hoping that some volunteer could help me research and locate his parents and or siblings names and more further Dymkowski or Dymek family/ancestors from Poland. Seems to be a fairly common surname particularly from Mazowieckie, Poland. From what Ive heard from Polish Genealogists and local family friends, "Dymkowski" is a modern form of "Dymek" which means "Smoke" and I'd also love to find its origins back to that name and beyond in Europe! With the help of some others, I was able to find a general marriage listing to Karolina Lelitko for November 13, 1851 in the village or city of Ruszkowo, Działdowo, Warmia-Masuria, Poland that was likely occupied by Germany at the time so German and Russian language was also mixed in. No parents were listed for my direct ancestor, Stanislaw Dymkowski unfortunately and he is been on my Genealogy mind for awhile now being a brick wall in my paternal Dymkowski line. Some records of his children births state his approximate age and, compiling or estimating these ages, we could find an estimated birth year range for my Stanisław Dymkowski ancestor born between 1820 and 1825 I'm estimating but his birthplace and exact birthdate and parents are sadly unknown to me. Somewhere the village of "Kitki" was mentioned I believe. Could that be where he was born or lived during or prior to marriage? I'd love to find his birth or baptism records as well but Geneteka works with building blocks from the bottom up. Firstly, Thank you for looking them up for me! Yes, that is the same records me and another Dymkowski 4th cousin found too. I cant read Polish easily without a text translator but my Polish relative could see and make out is the birth village of "Kitki" and his now widow wife Karolina nee Zalewska. I find this strange since her death record or the other few birth records of her kids list Karolina's maiden as "Lelitko" or "Lelitka" which is confusing to me. I'm wondering if her mother Anna Polinowska was first married to Maciej Zalewski and Karolina took her step-fathers surname which is what I got as "Lelitko" in my tree. I need to look for a marriage record for Anna Polinowska to both Maciej Zalewska and Matthes Lelitko to verify this!
I always had the father of Karolina as Matthes Lelitko(1805-1874) but now you may have opened up a new family line for me and corrected me on what I had previously! Thanks!
Could you find a marriage record for Stanisław Dymkowski around 1851 in Ruszkowo? One my 4th cousin found was a general marriage posting but none for the family details, like parents of bride & groom or other family in attendance?
I wish I could find his birth/baptism record but without his parents full names or even knowing any siblings, it would be near impossible to locate his parents or birthday etc..Do you know another way I could find his parents, birth/baptism? |
